In a long-awaited step toward transparency, Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District and Uvalde County have made public a trove of records tied to the tragic 2022 Robb Elementary School shooting.

The release comes after media organizations prevailed in court, and both entities had voted to lift years of secrecy.

Among the documents now available are 911 call logs, body‑ and security‑camera footage, emails and texts among school and law enforcement officials, as well as personnel files for former school police chief Pete Arredondo and records related to the gunman, Salvador Ramos.

The newly released school files provide a chilling narrative of Ramos's decline - from a "sweet little boy" in kindergarten to a troubled teen facing chronic absenteeism, academic failure, and repeated disciplinary issues, ultimately withdrawn from school at age 17.

The documents also surface communications that illustrate the chaos and internal strife in the wake of the shooting, with staff grappling over broken locks, fear of public criticism, and unease about accountability as the tragedy eclipsed the community.

Though no new video evidence sheds light on the delayed law enforcement response, the records deepen public insight into the systemic failures leading up to - and immediately following - one of the deadliest and most scrutinized school shootings in U.S. history.

With criminal trials for former school officials including Pete Arredondo and Adrian Gonzales still pending later this year, many families and advocates say this is just one step in a long path toward accountability.
