
Friday's high temperature of 109 degrees at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is the highest maximum temperature this late in the year (Sept. 8-Dec. 31) ever recorded in DFW weather history, according to statistical analysis of data in the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.
Just look it up, if you're doubtful.
It's probable that we're done with triple-digit temperatures for the year, though a non-zero chance. Just a couple of years ago on Sept. 20, 2021, the final 100-degree day was tied for ninth for latest last occurrence at the century mark.
If 2023 sees no further 100s, here would be the final results from the weather service:
