Did the 2020 election where Joe Biden beat Donald Trump amidst a global pandemic actually happen or did we have a mass hallucination?
For Trump, it should be erased from the history books, and here's why. If the Southern Poverty Law Center is convicted of fraudulent payments of $3 million to members of white supremacist groups the organization claims to fight, then it proves the Democrats create hoaxes. And if they create hoaxes, the election he lost to Biden must also have been a hoax and should be erased.
“The Southern Poverty Law Center, one of the greatest political scams in American History, has been charged with FRAUD,” Trump wrote on Truth Social .
“This is another Democrat Hoax along with Act Blue, and many others... If it is true, the 2020 Presidential Election should be permanently wiped from the books and be of no further force or effect!"
Whatever you think of that logic, here's the latest of the Southern Poverty Law Center scandal: The Democratic support group was indicted Tuesday on federal fraud charges for allegedly secretly pay leaders of the Ku Klux Klan and other hate groups for inside information, acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said.
The DOJ charged them with defrauding donors by using their money in ways they certainly would not have approved if they knew. They say they have evidence the group paid "more than $3 million paid to informants through a now-defunct program to infiltrate white supremacist and other extremist groups."
Yahoo News reported the indictment alleges the SPLC sent more than $270,000 to an informant who helped plan and attended the deadly white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017, "though it does not detail the purpose of the payments or the nature of the work carried out for the organization."
"The SPLC was not dismantling these groups. It was instead manufacturing the extremism it purports to oppose by paying sources to stoke racial hatred," Blanche said.

The DOJ has had the SPLC in their sights since Charlie Kirk's assassination when FBI Director Kash Patel severed the bureau’s ties with them, saying they were a “partisan smear machine” for their objections to Kirk's Turning Point USA. Previously, the government had paid the SPLC for information on hate groups.
For its part, the SPLC promises a vigorous defense, and had this explanation for the way the money was used.
“When we began working with informants, we were living in the shadow of the height of the Civil Rights Movement, which had seen bombings at churches, state-sponsored violence against demonstrators, and the murders of activists that went unanswered by the justice system,” SPLC interim President and CEO Bryan Fair said in a statement Wednesday.
Fair added the group "will vigorously defend ourselves, our staff, and our work” against the “false allegations,” and said that their informant program saved lives over the years.
As for how this could be connected to erasing the 2020 election results that are a continuing burr in Trump's side is anyone's guess.
His social media post comes on the heels of an extensive DOJ subpoena of 2024 voter records and ballot information in Wayne County, Michigan -- county seat of Democratic-led Detroit. Michigan leaders immediately said it was an 'absurd' effort to try to cast a shadow and discredit the previous election.
They're fighting back, but are supposed to turn over records, some of which they say doesn't exist, in a two-week window.
It's worth noting that after reams of lawsuits and subpoenas and allegations and rhetoric, no evidence has been found that the 2020 election or any other was rigged.
