A West Texas dog is getting some nation-wide love because of his remarkable make-over.

The Lubbock-based South Plains SPCA has asked for help with the little pooch named "Matt" because his fur was almost unbelievably matted when he was brought in.

The dog-lovers at SPCA call it "the worst case of dog neglect we have ever encountered." SPCA officials say Matt's nails were two inches long and he had thousands of goat-head stickers running through his matted fur and into his skin.

Experts and volunteers went to great lengths to stabilize Matt and to shear off his fur to give him a fresh start. Before and after pictures of Matt are winning hearts on the Internet across the country.
