A US Highway that spans 700 miles of Texas is the third most-feared highway in the country, according to a new report.

Highway 90 begins in Van Horn, covering more than 700 miles to the Louisiana line and then continues all the way to Jacksonville Beach, Florida. But it's the Texas stretch that causes drivers the most gray hairs.

A survey commissioned by a Florida car dealership shows the two highways most feared by drivers are US Highway 285 in New Mexico and State Route 190 in California. Then comes US Highway 90.

The survey shows the 130 mile run from Van Horn to Marathon in Brewster County is especially feared because it is extremely remote with very limited services and long distances between towns.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) will conduct a study on Highway 90 from this Fall to the winter of 2024 hoping to improve safety, mobility and connectivity along the entire corridor.
