Ask the Expert: What are the best viewing practices for seeing an eclipse?

Everyone seems to have "solar eclipse fever!" It's all anyone seems to talk about these days. Of course, the big event will be here before you know it on April 8th.

As North Texas is in the path of totality, people here must take precautions to help maintain their eye health while safely viewing this once-in-a-generation spectacle. A total solar eclipse in Dallas will occur around 1:40:43 pm CDT and last for about 3:51 minutes.
