Beachcombers along the Texas coast always make some interesting finds but this one might be best left alone.

The Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies at Texas A&M Corpus Christi has posted a photo of what they call a Witch Bottle.

They describe it as a green glass bottle with a cork stopper and inside it looks like some sort of vegetation or insects. The Harte Institute says often these bottles contain rather unsavory things like rusty pins or even urine.

The bottles are apparently created to fend off evil spells. They are sometimes found hidden inside walls or buried in the ground. But the one that washed up on the Texas coast may have been tossed in the ocean.

Official say if you do find one, it's best to leave it unopened.
