With triple digit heat on the way, a reminder for people with kids to make sure they are not left behind in a hot car.

Sadly Texas leads the nation when it comes to hot car deaths among kids, according to the Department of State Health Services. But there are lots of things you can do to make sure it doesn't happen to you.

\Experts say the majority of hot cars deaths are because someone forgot a child in a car, a caregiver simply forgot to drop off the child at school or daycare.

To help remember leave something in the backseat with the child, a purse or briefcase, some people even leave a shoe in the back.

Experts say leaving a child in a car can happen to anyone, even new parents who aren't used to the drop off schedule or busy parents who are just over-tired.

But settling a reminder will help save lives.
