A big warm up is on the way and isolated severe storms

Low clouds will dissipate by this afternoon, giving way to sunshine. Morning low clouds will be a repeating sight through next Wednesday, with slight storm chances over the weekend, and rapidly warming temperatures through early next week.

Good morning, and welcome to almost Friday. Low clouds are currently streaming in from the Gulf, with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s, which is well above average for this time of year. Some clouds will break out by late morning, leading to a partly cloudy, warm, and breezy day, with afternoon highs reaching the low 80s. A south wind will gust to 30 mph. Hold on to your hats.

We can expect more of the same tomorrow through the weekend, with morning low clouds and afternoon heat and sunshine. Afternoon highs will reach the mid to upper 80s on Friday, pushing 90 on Saturday and Sunday, and continuing into Monday and Tuesday, with baking heat returning to all of North Texas.

Storm chances are slim, but a weak cold front dropping south of the Red River late Friday evening may produce scattered severe storms. The greatest threat appears to be northeast of the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Saturday, with some storms possible along and north of Highway 380 and west of DFW on Sunday.

Monday will be quiet, but by Tuesday and Wednesday, storm chances may increase across much of North Texas. Stay tuned.

Temperatures will be very warm for this time of year, starting Friday and continuing through early next week. Make sure to stay hydrated and wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing, sunscreen, and a hat if you will be working outdoors for an extended period. As we approach summer, I would like to remind everyone to take necessary precautions to protect themselves.

Thank you for following my page. I hope you have an awesome day and enjoy the weather when you can, it's the only weather you've got.
