Welcome rain for all of North Texas through tomorrow, some storms may become severe with hail, wind, and an isolated tornado being the threats. We're keeping an eye on a flooding potential through the period.

On-and-off rain showers and storms are in the forecast today through Friday afternoon. A few of these storms could become severe. I'm not overly concerned about a tornado threat, but there could be some hail and gusty wind with the storms. Also, there is a slight flooding potential in some areas.

Temperatures will hold in the 60s today, tonight, and tomorrow, but sharply colder air arrives Friday evening. There will also be a thin line of showers and storms along the front and then it gets downright chilly by Saturday morning.

Saturday morning lows will dip into the upper 30s to the low 40s. Wind chills will be in the upper 20s when you wake up Saturday morning. Clearing skies with highs in the mid-50s by afternoon.

Protect tender vegetation on Sunday morning as temperatures will fall into the low to mid-30s. There is also a threat of frost in areas, especially north and west of the DFW. It will be sunny and 64 by the afternoon.

Temperatures will be on the rise next week with highs in the 70s Monday and Tuesday, and 80s on Wednesday. The next weather system arrives by the end of next week.
