It's going to be another beautiful Spring-like day across Dallas-Fort Worth where today's highs are going to be in the 80s.

On Tuesday, we set a record high for the date of 83, four degrees warmer than the previous record established six years ago. The record for today's date is 83, set more than a century ago in 1911.

The National Weather Service predicts today's high will be 84.

With the warm weather Tuesday, North Texans looked for reasons to be outside. And our two zoos are always a fun way to get out to enjoy the day.

Today is Wednesday and that means half-price admission to the Fort Worth Zoo which is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the winter months. The Dallas Zoo is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.

With Tuesday's mild temps, the Dallas Zoo tweeted photos of its new baby hippo Kalo enjoying a fresh lettuce lunch while basking in the sunshine. Kalo was born ten weeks ago and now weighs in at a healthy 260 pounds.
