Severe weather is now out of the state. As of 5:00 a.m., DFW airport has only measured about a 1/2 of an inch of rain.
Areas in northern Tarrant, southeastern Denton and western Collin counties have seen over 2 and a 1/2 inches so far. Same for parts of southern Johnson and Ellis Counties. That's where a couple of swats of thunderstorms moved through late yesterday evening.
There were no tornado reports across north Texas, but several golf ball size hail reports from Saginaw, to Haslet, to Roanoke, to Little Elm.
The light to moderate rain we're seeing right now across north Texas will quickly exit from southwest to northeast by late morning. Clouds will exit, giving way for a sunny and cooler day today. Highs will be in the mid 60s. NW wind will gust to 25mph.
The beautiful weather sticks around for Friday and most of Saturday with highs back in the mid to upper 70s.
Clouds roll back in Saturday evening as a cold front approaches from the NW. I can't rule out a few scattered showers towards the evening hours. Showers will exit in the wake of another cold front before daybreak on Sunday. North winds briefly return with a high near 70゚
As of now, Monday and Tuesday look nice with highs in the low 70s on Monday, mid to upper 70s on Tuesday... as the wind increases from the south.
A slight chance of rain returns next Wednesday as a cold front comes into the area. Right now I'm looking for no severe weather with this next front. High temperatures will be cooler into the upper 60s.
