All of North Texas saw some rain Wednesday morning, but it quickly moved out of the area behind a strong cold front. A north wind will gust to 30 mph through 12 p.m., and wind chills will be in the 40s. Below-average temperatures will continue through the weekend, with no rain in the forecast. The average low this time of the year is 38°, and the average high is 57°.
Nothing severe came out of the overnight rain and the cold front is now south of DFW. Clouds will slowly decrease from northwest to southeast, with a ton of wind and temperatures falling into the mid to upper 40s early. The will rebound into the low to mid-50s by the afternoon. Wind chills will be in the 40s all day long.
Patchy frost will develop overnight as the wind relaxes. Morning lows will range between 30 and 35 degrees.
Chilly mornings and cool afternoons will be the weather story Thursday through the weekend. Another cold front will come into the area early Friday, keeping the humidity low and temperature slightly below average. Morning lows will be in the 30s, with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 50s.
The winter solstice arrives at 3:20 a.m. Saturday, however, no bitterly cold air will impact the weather through the weekend and into next week. A warming trend is on the way through Christmas Eve. Afternoon highs will get back into the 60s, with morning lows in the 40s. It looks like our next weather system will bring us another rain chance next Tuesday.
