We are a good 15 to 20゚ warmer than what we felt at this time yesterday morning. That's what a southerly wind and cloud cover will do in these parts. Temperatures range between 50゚ and 55゚ across north Texas.
Today will be rather quiet with extensive cloud cover, an increase in a southerly wind, and a few sprinkles or showers developing later on this afternoon and especially this evening. These will not amount to too much.
Tonight, a few showers are possible with low temperatures in the mid fifties.
Tomorrow, a warm front surges north, the dryline surges north, and the humidity rapidly increases through the morning and early afternoon. There's also a chance for a few morning showers and then thunderstorm activity will rapidly increase by early to mid afternoon and continued to increase in coverage through the evening. Some of these storms will be capable of producing damaging wind, large hail, and there is a small tornado threat, especially east of Dallas towards the evening hours. You can pretty much draw a line along and east of a Gainesville to Fort Worth to Granbury line for thunderstorm development.
By late tomorrow evening, a cold front will move through the area. There's a chance for a line of storms the form along this front, blow through the area, blowing through a little before midnight. Right now, the greatest chance for thunderstorms will be north of Denton and Decatur but this does need to be watched. Damaging wind will be the main threat if the line of storms extends farther south and west as it moves through DFW.
After that, a beautiful weekend AND a nice start too early next week with warming temperatures. Highs will be back in the 80s!
Our next chance for severe storms is will return by Tuesday, but we've got plenty of time to monitor that together.
