Chilly mornings and cool afternoons will be the norm through the weekend before a quick warm up early next week. The next rain chance arrives on Tuesday, but clears out ahead of a beautiful first day of Hanukkah and Christmas.
Friday morning temperatures were chilly, but seasonable, with temperatures falling into the upper 30s to low 40s. A north wind will blow, and gust to 20 mph under plenty of sunshine later in the day. Afternoon highs will only reach the mid 50s. That's a couple of degrees below average for this time of the year.
The wind relaxes Friday night under a clear sky, that means temperatures will tumble after sunset. Radiational cooling will take place as morning lows will take a dip into the upper 20s to low 30s.
Morning lows this weekend will fall into the upper 30s to low 40s. Afternoon highs will be near 60 on Saturday, low to mid 60s on Sunday as a south wind picks up.
By Tuesday, widespread shower and thunderstorm activity will break out along the next weather maker. It's not looking like anything too severe, but it's not out of the question to get a few warnings for wind and small hail out of the next system, especially along and east of Interstate 35. Rain could be heavy at times in these areas as well. All the precipitation should be out of the state by Christmas morning.
Temperatures on Monday will be near 70 degrees, upper 60s on Tuesday, and low 60s with plenty of sunshine on Christmas Day.
Our nice weather pattern looks to continue into Thursday as well, with highs in the mid 60s.
