Fall weather has FINALLY arrived!

Fall weather has FINALLY arrived!

**WELL, IT FINALLY HAPPENED! OUR FIRST REAL TASTE OF FALL HAS ARRIVED IN NORTH TEXAS!**

We had to wait until the middle of October, but our first decent cold front of the season has finally moved through! Some of you lucky folks picked up some rain yesterday, but much of the eastern half of North Texas wasn't so fortunate.

Good morning, everyone, and THANK GOODNESS IT'S FRIDAY! We're waking up to mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees. The cold front is now well south of North Texas, and we're feeling that much cooler air pouring in from the north!

**PLENTY OF REASONS TO GET OUTSIDE THIS WEEKEND!**

Southlake Oktoberfest is happening, it's the final weekend of the State Fair of Texas, and there are some great concerts around town. It's also perfect weather to get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and maybe tackle a little yard work. Hopefully, you'll only have ONE MORE LAWN MOWING left this year!

**WIND IS THE BIG STORY TODAY!**

Rainfall was mainly confined to western North Texas last night. As expected, those showers weakened considerably as they moved east. The cold front is now through the area, and north winds are gusting 25–30 mph.

A Wind Advisory goes into effect in a few hours and continues through early this evening. We'll see sunshine return today, but that sunshine will also help mix down some stronger winds. Gusts of 45–50 mph are possible!
Be extra careful if you're driving high-profile vehicles, RVs, or vehicles pulling campers and trailers. East-west roadways could be especially challenging with those strong crosswinds.

One more thing! Hopefully, you've brought in your Halloween decorations or secured them. Otherwise, your neighbors might end up with some brand-new decorations courtesy of Mother Nature!

**HERE COMES THE CHILLY WEEKEND!**

**FRIDAY:** Windy and cooler. If you're heading to high school football games or the State Fair tonight, bundle up! Temperatures will drop into the low to mid-40s by Saturday morning.

**SATURDAY:** A chilly start, with lighter winds around 5–15 mph in the morning. Winds will gradually ease through the day, but afternoon highs will only reach the mid-60s. You might want to keep that jacket handy!

**SUNDAY:** Another chilly morning, with temperatures dipping into the 40s. The winds will relax, and afternoon highs will climb into the mid-to-upper 60s. A beautiful fall day is on tap!

**AND THEN THE WARM-UP BEGINS!**

Our average high temperature this time of year is around 78 degrees, but North Texas weather rarely stays the same for long!

Monday: Low to mid-70s
Tuesday: Upper 70s
Wednesday and Thursday: Back into the 80s!

That's North Texas fall weather for you. We can go from jackets and chilly mornings to short sleeves and warm afternoons in just a few days!

Those big temperature swings can sometimes help set the stage for severe weather when all the necessary ingredients come together, but I don't see any significant rain chances over the next seven days.
So enjoy this beautiful taste of fall while we've got it! Get outside, enjoy the weekend, and make the most of this cooler weather.

As I always say, **ENJOY THE WEATHER WHEN YOU CAN, FOLKS. IT'S THE ONLY WEATHER YOU'VE GOT!**
