The 1080 KRLD Weather Radar is relatively quiet right now, but things will rapidly change later this morning and especially this afternoon, through the overnight and into noon tomorrow.

Widespread heavy rain will break out to the west and southwest of us and slowly creep across the area through the period. A Flash Flood Watch goes into effect at 7:00 a.m. this morning and runs through 7:00 p.m. tomorrow. Average rainfall totals will be between 3" to 4", with isolated higher amounts possible.

Some storms this afternoon through the evening could be strong with gusty winds being the main threat. There could also be some small hail in some of the stronger storms, but I'm not looking for a major severe weather outbreak with this event… just a high flooding potential.

Temperatures may make it up into the low to mid eighties today. Mid sixties tonight. Near 80 tomorrow as the rain comes to an end by afternoon.

By Friday late morning, a strong cold front will plow through the area. There's a small chance for a few showers along the front, but the big story will be the falling temperatures from the low 70s in the late morning into the low 60s by late afternoon. Northerly winds will gust as high as 35 miles per hour so it would feel a heck of a lot cooler than the 60s... Be sure to grab a light jacket on the way out the door tomorrow morning.

Morning lows will drop into the mid to upper 40s on Saturday, with daytime highs in the low 70s. We're back in the 40s for Sunday morning with a high in the mid 70s by afternoon.

No changes in our weather pattern early next week as temperatures remain in the 70s during the day and 50s in the morning hours. It'll finally feel like fall!

Please stay weather aware later today through the overnight and into tomorrow morning for for flash flooding. Also, please allow extra time getting to work tomorrow morning.
