The baking heat will continue over the next 7 days, as our triple digit days (31 and counting) continue to add up in 2022.

We're starting off this morning in the 80s and we're going to heat up again today to around 103°, just like we did yesterday. South winds will blow 10 to 20 mph keeping our high grass fire danger in place. We also have a Heat Advisory in effect for the majority of North Texas today and most likely tomorrow as well. Daytime highs will reach 103° again on Thursday.

By Friday, a weak front will edge towards the Red River Valley by late afternoon and evening, sparking some scattered showers and storms. Right now, the best chance looks to be along and north of the Red River into Oklahoma. One or two may form across north Texas, but chances are very slim. Afternoon highs will reach 102°.

102° will be a popular number this weekend with a very slight chance of a late day storm on Saturday, mainly north and northeast of DFW. Our high grass fire danger will continue as well.

Unfortunately, high pressure in the upper levels will remain in control all of next week with temperatures between 102 and 104°. Absolutely no rain is in the forecast as well.

Please make sure you take all safety precautions if you're going to be outdoors for an extended period of time. Check on the pets and elderly and beat the heat, check your back seat please. And please keep telling yourself there's a high grass fire danger.
