Today promises to be another beautiful day with isolated storms possible late in the afternoon and evening on Cinco de Mayo. A few showers are expected on Wednesday, followed by a significant cool-down on Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will then rise again over the weekend before the next chance of storms arrives late on Sunday.
Good morning, and I hope you're having a great start to the day. May the 4th be with you. This morning is quite comfortable, with temperatures in the mid to upper 50s across the area. As the day progresses, south winds will pick up, gusting up to 30 mph, and temperatures will rise to the mid-80s, making for another fantastic day.
Tomorrow, being Taco Tuesday and Cinco de Mayo, you might want to consider enjoying a margarita and a taco after work, or perhaps during lunch, depending on your work schedule. Additionally, scattered severe storms are expected to break out in the Dallas area and points northeast after 5:00 p.m. These storms will be few and far between, but they will be capable of producing large hail and damaging winds. I will continue to monitor the situation as a front stalls across the area. Afternoon highs on Tuesday will reach the low 90s, providing ample fuel for the storms.
A second front will enter the Texas Panhandle on Wednesday, bringing a chance of scattered storms along the front. Afternoon highs on Wednesday will be cooler due to increased cloud cover, reaching only the low 80s.
On Thursday morning, the front will have cleared the area, giving way to a cool, breezy, and comfortable morning. Temperatures will drop to the mid to upper 40s, making it necessary to wear a jacket. Plenty of sunshine is expected during the day, with afternoon highs reaching only the mid-70s and low humidity.
On Friday, south winds will return, causing afternoon highs to jump back into the lower 80s, with no chance of rain.
Saturday promises to be a nice day, with south winds picking up at 15 to 25 mph and temperatures warming into the mid-80s. Most of Sunday will be decent, with highs in the low 90s, but by late Sunday afternoon and evening, there is a chance for more storms to enter the picture as another cold front arrives. However, it is still too early to determine if these storms will be severe, and the timing of the front is also uncertain. As this forecast is subject to change, I advise you to continue monitoring my updates throughout the week.
Have a great day and enjoy the weather when you can, it's the only weather you've got!
