What it's terrific weekend it was! Hope you got to enjoy the beautiful weather.
It's back to school and work we go this morning. Clouds have invaded the area and temperatures are very mild for this time of the year. Everybody is feeling the low to mid sixties. Not much going on today, but a bunch of wind and sunshine by this afternoon. High temps will reach the low eighties again, like we felt yesterday.
An active weather pattern will start to unfold starting late Tuesday through Thursday, as a slow moving upper level low activates the dry line by late afternoon, both tomorrow and Wednesday. Some storms will be severe containing hail and damaging wind. I've posted the Storm Prediction Center's outlooks for tomorrow and Wednesday. We may see some yellow (slight risk)or level 2 added to Wednesday's map by tomorrow.
Our next cold front will arrive here on Thursday, increasing our rain chances during the day. Some strong to severe storms are possible as well.
With 3 days in a row of rain chances, flash flooding could be a concern in some areas. Average rainfall totals for this 3 day weather event will range between 1" and 3" ...with isolated higher totals possible. This should erase our 2" rainfall deficit for the year by Thursday evening.
Clouds and some showers may linger into early Friday morning, as the system wraps some moisture around into the area. After that, sunshine returns and a beautiful Friday and weekend is ahead!
I'll continue to monitor the severe weather potential over the next few days and will keep you posted as usual.
