Rain chances increase Friday into Halloween

Rain chances increase Friday into Halloween

**RAIN IS FINALLY MAKING A COMEBACK IN NORTH TEXAS!**

Good morning, everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! It's back to work and school we go!

It's been a while since we've seen measurable rainfall across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, but that looks like it's about to change as we head toward the end of the week and the first part of Halloween weekend!

We're waking up to temperatures mainly in the low 60s, with a few upper 50s east of DFW. We've also got some passing mid- and high-level clouds streaming in from the southwest. That will be a common sight throughout much of the week.

Here's what's happening: The bubble of high pressure that dominated our weather last week is beginning to break down as the jet stream becomes more active across West Texas, the Panhandle, and the South Plains. An active subtropical jet stream will be the primary weather influencer across our region this week and into the upcoming weekend.

**A SLIGHT RAIN CHANCE TUESDAY EVENING**

We have a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm late Tuesday into Tuesday night, especially northwest of a Sherman-to-Fort Worth-to-Granbury line. Some of that activity could sneak into our western counties before Tuesday wraps up, but rainfall amounts are expected to be limited.

Otherwise, we'll remain mostly dry through Wednesday and much of Thursday before our next significant weather change arrives.

**YOUR NORTH TEXAS TEMPERATURE OUTLOOK**

- **Monday:** Near 81° with passing clouds.- **Tuesday:** Low 80s with a slight chance of rain late.- **Wednesday:** Low 80s with mostly dry conditions.- **Thursday:** Temperatures may struggle to reach 80° as our weather pattern begins to change.

**A MORE SIGNIFICANT RAINMAKER ARRIVES LATE WEEK!**
A strong upper-level disturbance is expected to move out of Mexico and across the western two-thirds of Texas from Thursday night through Friday and Saturday. This system should bring widespread showers and thunderstorms to much of the state.

It's still too early to determine exactly how much rain we'll receive across North Texas, but there's a good chance many of you will see some beneficial rainfall before Halloween morning!

The risk of severe weather currently appears low, but I'll be keeping a close eye on this system as it develops and moves across Texas. I'll provide updates throughout the week as we get a better handle on the timing and potential rainfall amounts.

**WHAT ABOUT HALLOWEEN WEEKEND?**
As we move into the second half of the weekend, we'll have to see how quickly conditions dry out following the late-week rain. Temperatures should generally hover in the 70s around Halloween, and additional rain may be possible by early next week.

**THE BOTTOM LINE:** After a prolonged stretch of dry weather, North Texas finally has a better chance of getting some much-needed rain!
