Showers today, Isolated severe storms this weekend

Scattered showers will persist this morning, with clouds gradually clearing by this afternoon. A predominantly dry weather pattern will commence on Thursday and continue through the weekend. However, isolated severe storms may develop Friday evening, Saturday evening, and Sunday evening, particularly west and east of the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Good morning, everyone. Welcome to Wednesday. It's cloudy and cool, with temperatures in the low 60s and showers moving in from the south, causing roadways to become wet. Please allow extra time to reach your destinations this morning. Showers will start to dissipate as the day progresses, with some breaks in the clouds possible this afternoon. High temperatures will rise to the mid-to-upper 70s, a significant increase from the low 60s experienced yesterday.

A warming trend is expected from Thursday through the weekend, with temperatures reaching the low 80s on Thursday and the upper 80s Friday through the weekend. These warm temperatures will persist into Monday and Tuesday of next week.

Storm chances will be isolated on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but any storms that do develop may become severe, particularly across North Texas. The best chances for severe weather on Friday will be west of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Saturday's chances will be east, and Sunday's chances will be isolated, with coverage around 20% each day.

A strong cap will be in place across North Texas; however, if the dry line moves into the area and the cap breaks, isolated supercells may develop, containing large hail and damaging winds. Although chances are relatively low, this situation will be closely monitored as the weekend approaches.

Daytime hours should be ideal for outdoor activities, such as yard work. Next week, Monday and Tuesday are expected to be mainly dry, with afternoon highs approaching 90 degrees. I still can't rule out some isolated strong/severe storms. Stay tuned!

Have a great day today and enjoy the weather when you can, it's the only weather you've got.
