Have you located your Halloween inflatables? Are they halfway down the street? Are they in the gulf? Fortunately, the wind has subsided this morning, although it is somewhat chilly. The coldest morning of the fall season has arrived.

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. I hope you enjoyed the wind. It's great to be back at work, having recovered from a 24-hour stomach bug and currently at about 75% of my full strength. It's challenging to leave the airways when there's a lot of weather activity. We have a hurricane and cold air to contend with. Please continue to pray for the residents of Jamaica, Eastern Cuba, and parts of the Bahamas. Melissa is expected to reach Bermuda as a category 2 hurricane this evening before heading towards the United Kingdom over the next 72 hours.

Temperatures this morning range from the upper 30s to low 40s. Frost advisories remain in effect west of Denton and Fort Worth until 9:00 a.m. Today will be sunny and beautiful with very light winds. Afternoon highs will reach the mid-60s. The average high temperature is 73 degrees.

Clear skies and calm winds tonight will allow temperatures to drop to between 41 and 46 degrees. Please protect tender vegetation and bring pets indoors.

Halloween day is expected to be fantastic, with afternoon highs reaching the low 70s, which is average for this time of year. If you're attending high school football, bundle up as temperatures will drop to the upper 50s by the fourth quarter. Fortunately, the wind will be light.

Our next cold front will arrive before noon on Saturday, bringing a cloud bank and some showers. Although much of the precipitation will evaporate before reaching the ground, you may still see some water on your windshield if you're driving around on Saturday morning. Clouds will clear from north to south throughout the day, with afternoon highs cooling to the low to mid-60s. The wind won't be as strong as it was with the previous front.

Don't forget to set your clocks back before bed on Saturday night. You'll appreciate the extra hour of sleep as temperatures drop to the 40s on Sunday morning. Afternoon highs will reach the mid-60s.

Warming temperatures are expected next week, with plenty of sunshine. Monday will see highs in the low 70s, Tuesday in the mid-70s, and Wednesday in the upper 70s as south winds pick up to 15-25 mph. This could lead to a critical grass fire danger day across parts of the area.

Have a great day and enjoy the weather when you can. It's the only weather we've got.
