to me
We have successfully navigated another week of work and school, and our weather remains unseasonably warm for this time of year. When can we expect the first significant cooldown of the Fall season? I'll attempt to provide an answer.
Not for the foreseeable future. In all seriousness, we are stuck in a stagnant weather pattern, characterized by poor air quality, light wind, and above-average temperatures. The average temperature has dropped another degree overnight. We anticipate a low of 62 degrees and an afternoon high of 83 degrees on October 3rd. However, we won't experience those temperatures until possibly the end of next week or the following weekend.
This mid-level Ridge of high pressure will continue to dominate our weather through the weekend into next Wednesday, with afternoon highs near 90 degrees, morning lows ranging from 65 to 70 degrees, and no precipitation in the forecast.
By late next Tuesday and early Wednesday, a weak front will move into the area, knocking temperatures down to the mid-80s for highs on Wednesday and Thursday. Morning lows will be in the 60s. There may be a slight chance of showers along the front on Wednesday, but the probability is extremely low at this time.
Once we exceed the seven-day forecast, the extended data becomes conflicted. One model predicts a strong cold front arriving next weekend, while the other two models indicate a continuation of warm and dry conditions. I will keep you updated as we progress through next week.
As I mentioned yesterday, it is inevitable that the weather will eventually cool down; after all, it is October. Have a great day today, an enjoyable weekend, and please take advantage of the weather while you can, as it is the only weather we have.
