Parts of North Texas experience first freeze, cooler temperatures take over the weekend

Bundle up for Black Friday, as certain parts of North Texas will receive their first freeze. Temperatures are around the mid-50s on Friday and can reach the upper 40s over the weekend.

Morning clouds and afternoon sun with highs in the upper 40s expected to capture Friday after temperatures on Thanksgiving were down into the 40s with wind chills in the 30s.

The rest of the holiday weekend will be nice here across North Texas with highs in the low 50s Friday, near 60 on Saturday, and upper 50s on Sunday with plenty of sunshine.

Many areas will experience their first freeze of the Fall season on Black Friday in the morning with temperatures in the upper 20s to low 30s. The exception will be DFW Airport. They will most likely only drop into the mid-30s.

Some of the areas expecting their first freeze during Black Friday include: Addison, Arlington, Denton, Fort Worth, McKinney, Mesquite, Sherman, Terrell, and more.
