The customized Unitree G1 robot jogged after the animals on Sunday, April 12, running across a grassy patch before raising its fist in apparent frustration as the boars escaped into the street. The robot’s official X account later posted the video with the caption “I’m herding the wild boars into the forest.”

Edward Warchocki, equipped with a backpack, knee pads and helmet lights, was brought to Poland by two IT specialists as part of a promotional project showcasing real-world robotics. The machine has already gained local celebrity status, appearing at public events, in parliament and on television.

Warsaw has wrestled for years with an estimated population of several thousand wild boars that have moved into the city seeking food and shelter. The animals frequently damage property, rummage through trash and wander into residential neighborhoods, creating safety concerns for residents. City officials have responded with culling programs that at times included shootings in populated areas, drawing criticism from animal welfare groups and the public.

No one was injured in the April 12 encounter, and the robot’s lighthearted attempt at herding drew millions of views online. The clip highlights both the city’s ongoing urban wildlife challenge and the growing role of advanced humanoid robots in everyday Polish life.
