Israel launched multiple airstrikes hitting Iran Thursday into Friday targeting the country's nuclear program.

This action has now raised the likelihood for a massive escalation involving the growing conflict in the Middle East.

Two top Iranian military officials were killed. General Hossein Salami of Iran's Paramilitary Revolutionary Guard and General Mohammad Bagheri who was Chief of Staff of Iranian Armed Forces.

The United States has moved military resources in the aftermath considering Iran may retaliate. Iran has vowed action against Israel.

United States officials were quick to publicly say that the U.S. was not a participant in Israel's strikes.

Political leaders from North Texas were also quick to respond to the action.

"Understand if you attack American military bases, if you kill even one American serviceman or woman, President Trump will respond with overwhelming force," Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) told News Nation. "Do not do so!"

Pray for the people of Israel, pray for Jerusalem," Cruz continued. "Pray for American servicemen and women who are in bases in the Middle East who are in harm's way."

President Donald Trump is meeting with his National Security Council team as he monitors the situation.
