Local governments in the country are censoring anything that shows up on the Internet, which is why VPN apps have become so popular lately.
VPN downloads are up 1200 percent since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Almost a half-million alone in just one day last week.

VPNs are virtual private networks that can make it look like you're looking at the Internet anonymously from other cities or other countries.
