Just 24 hours after the horrific 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the Turkey-Syria border, KRLD's Kristin Diaz and David Rancken connected with the Syrian American Medical Society to see how it was prepared to respond.
At the time, agencies reported just over 2,000 deaths. As of Tuesday night, that number was over 41,000, making this one of the deadliest natural disasters for the area in its history.
Syrian American Medical Society Executive Director David Lillie joined Ask the Expert to deliver an update on how the situation for his staff has evolved since the initial recovery stages.
