Help nourish Dracula Dave & the Vampires – just takes 90 seconds to RSVP throw your name on the list as they’re busy getting ready sharpening their fangs!  Then on the day of have your I.D. & please be sure to wear a mask required for this event.  There may be a wait & please don’t be in a hurry, the donation process takes some time & our fans come out in huge numbers for this one.  It is first come – first served each day, but don’t worry we have specially allocated plenty of tix for both days & from previous years no one ever leaves emptyhanded!

Free for blood donors, tons of all-day parking available at the rear of the premises right behind the hotel–casino–large tents.  At the stoplight Telegraph Road/Tubeway Ave, turn east onto Tubeway Ave along the side of the hotel.  Keep going all the way down the block about ¼ mile until the end of the row of palm trees look for the driveway entrance & turn right into the huge parking lot, then walk over to enter through the front of the hotel’s main entrance.

Crowne Hotel:  6121 E. Telegraph Road, Commerce, 90040

Many folks are surprised to learn that they’re eligible to donate. Contrary to some myths, most common daily medications are acceptable (i.e. cholesterol, blood pressure, antidepressants, birth control, thyroid, even diabetics taking insulin).  Plus, everyone gets a free health screening before they donate & can receive info to be able to find out their own individual blood type (no cost or fees for any of this), so first-timers are welcome too!

A few important things to note:

- You must be in good general health

- If you’re sick now, have a fever, don’t feel well, or any symptoms at all – please do not attend & just get better

- If you’ve had COVID, it must be at least an entire month (28 days) for a full recovery until safe to give blood

- COVID-19 vaccination is accepted (after a minimum 72 hours)

- Most common daily medications are allowed
- Weigh minimum 110 lbs
- Be at least 17 years old  (16 years old require a completed parent consent form & signature page brought with, see below)
- Tattoos are now OKAY, if done professionally & healed

Different from the past several years ago, the tattoo rule has already changed & is further specified in the Guidelines document below.  We want to ensure no amateur ink-work (i.e. not done in a garage or unlicensed place) & no lingering infections are present.  As long as it was performed at a professional shop in California & has healed thoroughly, there is no longer a one-year wait for tattoos or body piercings.

The downloadable documents below will answer the majority of questions.

As you know, Cedars-Sinai is one of the most respected medical institutions on the West Coast and performs the most organ heart transplants in the entire country.  We’re very pleased to partner with them to handle our blood donation operation.  Walk-ins are welcome and doors open early at 6am.
