Former KROQ DJ Richard Blade is set to receive the 2,782nd star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame next Thursday, June 6th a 11am! The ceremony will take place at 1625 Vine Street (adjacent to The Aster) and will feature guest speakers Jimmy Kimmel and Richard Blade Fan Club Coordinator Oscar E. Alvarez Jr.

"The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to honor radio personality Richard Blade with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame," stated Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame Producer. “Richard has enriched many lives with his incredible talent and passion for music. This ceremony will bring back great memories and music from the 1980s when he was with Los Angeles radio station, KROQ. What makes this award even more special for Richard is that he was nominated by his fans!” added Martinez.

Blade was born in England, educated at Oxford, and after touring Europe for two years as a DJ, moved to the United States. In the 1980s, he was the top-rated morning-drive DJ on KROQ in Los Angeles and hosted and directed numerous TV shows and series including Video OneMV3, and VideoBeat.

He has won numerous awards, including The Golden Microphone, California’s Best DJ, the Brit-of-the-Year, and the American DJ Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award. He was  awarded last June 9th with a special resolution proclaiming Richard Blade Day in Los Angeles by the L.A. City Council, for his contributions to music and entertainment.

The event will be streamed live exclusively at walkoffame.com although we encourage you to come down and celebrate if you can! We'll also be doing something special with Richard next week so stay tuned!
