The men, both 40 years old, were standing in the area when the suspect approached and fired multiple rounds at them before fleeing the scene, he said.

Both victims were rushed to a hospital by ambulance, the officer said. One man was pronounced dead at the hospital and the other had stable vital signs.

A crime scene investigation was underway.

FOX11 reported from the scene that the victims were in a group involved in a shootout with another group of men and video showed dozens of yellow markers where there was evidence of gunfire.
