20 people injured in bus crash in Lancaster

Twenty people were injured, one critically, when a bus struck train tracks and overturned in Lancaster Wednesday.

The crash was reported about 11:30 a.m. at an at-grade railroad crossing at Sierra Highway and West Avenue C, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The city bus landed on its side, according to an initial report made to the CHP.

Multiple ambulances were requested, along with a medical helicopter for an 8-year-old boy who was among those injured, but was considered in stable condition.

Crews on the scene reported a total of 20 patients, with one of them in critical condition.
