The 14th District is one of three council races headed for a runoff.

Jurado, a tenants-rights attorney, stood at 8,611 votes (24.52%) to de León's 8,214 (23.39%), according to totals released Tuesday by the L.A. County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk.

Since the previous results from the March 5 primary were released last week, Jurado added four votes to her total, while de León picked up another five.

The 14th District encompasses Boyle Heights, Lincoln Heights, Downtown Los Angeles, El Sereno and Northeast Los Angeles.

If no candidate receives more than 50% of the primary vote, the top two vote-getters square off in a November runoff.

In the Second District, former Assemblyman Adrin Nazarian holds a lead over business owner Jillian Burgos. As of Tuesday's ballot update, Nazarian stood at 14,025 (37.18%) votes to Burgos' 8,426 (22.34%).

Those two candidates are looking to succeed termed-out Council President Paul Krekorian for the Second District seat, which covers North Hollywood, Studio City, Sun Valley, Toluca Lake, Valley Glen, Valley Village and Van Nuys.

In the Tenth District, incumbent Heather Hutt will compete against second-place challenger Grace Yoo in Hutt's bid for a full four-year term. The latest numbers show Hutt with13,493 votes (37.79%) to Yoo's 8,253 (23.11%).

Hutt was appointed as caretaker councilwoman for District 10 last year following the indictment and conviction of Mark Ridley-Thomas on federal corruption charges.

The 10th District encompasses the Central L.A. neighborhoods of Arlington Heights, Koreatown, Mid-City, Palms, South Robertson, West Adams and Wilshire Center.

Meanwhile, four incumbent council members have avoided runoffs by scoring above 50% -- Nithya Raman (District 4), Imelda Padilla (District 6), Marqueece Harris-Dawson (District 8) and John Lee (District 12).

Tuesday's numbers show Raman at 50.67% to challenger Ethan Weaver's 38.59%. Weaver has conceded the race.

Padilla stood at 78.35%, while Harris-Dawson was at 78.41% and Lee at 62.30%.

Overall, the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk said Tuesday's update included 102 newly counted ballots, countywide, for a total count of 1,640,913 ballots cast, or 28.88% of registered voters.

Election results are set to be certified Friday. All the ballots left to be processed are pending "signature cures" from voters whose signatures on the return envelope were missing or did not match their registration record, Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk said.
