As a storm rolls through Southern California this weekend, Los Angeles County has issued an evacuation warning for burn scar areas, including in the Palisades and Altadena.

In Altadena, Melissa Marona, who serves on the town council, told KNX News’ Jon Baird that storm preparations are underway.

“This will be an onslaught of sustained rains over several days, and so it's just a concern given anytime there's a big fire and there's debris still left on the mountain and not a lot of vegetation to hold it back,” she said.

Ron Coleman, who lost his barbershop in the Eaton Fire, told Baird he thinks the rain could spell big problems.

“If you look at the hill, most of the brushes are burnt up,” he said. “So now you just got a naked hill. So yeah, I think something could happen if it rained extra hard.”
