A Lakewood family is searching for their beloved Siamese cat after it was stolen by a freelance Amazon delivery driver.

Diane Huff Medina told KNX News’ Emily Valdez it happened on Sunday night. Video from the family’s Ring camera showed the Amazon delivery driver dropping off a package. He’s then seen walking over to the right, where Piper can be heard meowing.

The delivery driver is seen kneeling down to pet the Pipe before grabbing her by the scruff of the neck and carrying her to his car, which appears to be a light colored Prius.

The pet owner of Piper, an outdoor cat, claims that the delivery driver stole her cat after dropping off a package at the L.A. residence. The cat-nab was caught on the woman's ring camera last week.

“I don't know why he would have taken her, but not for anything good,” Medina said. “Maybe to sell her.”

Medina added that a police report was filed and a detective is investigating. She also said she was told the driver is a contractor and that they know who he is, but Amazon has not been able to contact him.
