A black "mini" SUV plowed halfway into a single- story home Wednesday morning in Burbank and the motorist behind the wheel of that vehicle fled the scene, authorities said.

A motorist spotted the vehicle about 4:40 a.m. inside the home in the 1800 block of North Fredric Street and so it was unclear approximately what time the crash occurred, according to Burbank police Lt. Brent Fekety.

There was no one inside the home, but officers did locate "items" inside the residence to suggest that the structure was not vacant, Fekety said.

No additional details were immediately made available.

Anyone with any information regarding the crash was urged to contact the Burbank Police Department at 818-238-3000. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or visit lacrimestoppers.org.
