A fire at the California Yacht Club in Marina del Rey left two firefighters injured.

On Monday around 11:30 p.m., the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to 4469 Admiralty Way.

Two firefighters were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries; however, the firefighters have since been released from the hospital.

Los Angeles County Fire Department PIO Fred Fielding told KNX News Jon Baird that there were a lot of personnel on the scene.

“There was probably roughly a little under 100 personnel here, so a lot of rigs,” he said. “A lot of people. A lot of additional folks making sure that everything is safe and there's also an engine still there right now on fire watch just to make sure nothing reignited.”

Clint Carlton, who is running for a seat on Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, told KNX News’ Jon Baird he’s in shock over the fire.

“I think shock because we just had the boat parade on Saturday night,” he said. “So, you don't expect something like this to happen. You're never prepared for something like this.”

He added that he thinks the yacht club will rebuild quickly.

“I think that they're resilient though,” he said. “They're a community and so they're more than just a building. I think they're a community that's going to withstand this.”

Fire officials said no boats were injured in the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
