LOS ANGELES (KNX) – Opening Day has arrived as the Los Angeles Dodgers kick off the 2023 season on Thursday against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Former Dodger Steve Garvey told KNX News that Opening Day is a big day for everybody.
“Don't let any player tell you, ‘oh, I'm not going to be nervous, you know, on Opening Day,’” he said. “You get a little nervous. You spent six weeks in spring training. You could have been around 10, 12 years, but it counts tonight.”
Fans will notice some new features at Dodgers Stadium, including brand new field lights that can actually change color. There are also new menu options for fans, including a Philly cheesesteak sandwich, a hot link corn dog, and a Mediterranean chicken bowl.
Pre-game festivities will start at 6:30 p.m. The first pitch is set for 7:10 p.m.
