Taylor Loren, an extremely understanding woman from Vancouver, recently posted a clip to TikTok showing her husband-to-be checking his phone as she walked down the aisle at their wedding.
The brief clip shows the very bearded groom, Russell, bedecked in a snazzy cobalt blue suit, watching as Loren arrives, and beaming with a big, excited smile. Then suddenly it seems his phone buzzes, and he pulls it out to check it. As his bride walks up the aisle! At his wedding!
Taylor’s witty captions read, “Four years ago today I walked down the aisle to marry the love of my life. it was one of the most important & emotional moments of our life and my husband did the most romantic thing… he checked his freaking phone!”
The editing is fun too, as it cuts off right as the groom looks at the phone and gets a startled look on his face. Whatever it was (we’re guessing his team just fell behind in a big game), it luckily wasn’t important enough to stop the wedding proceedings and turn Russell into the biggest goofball of all time.
In the pantheon of wedding fails, this one doesn’t rank up there with the bridal party falling into the lake. But this TikTok clip definitely captures a perfectly awkward little marriage moment.
Hence, the clip has racked up more than 2.3 million views, most of the viewers probably former brides and definitely irked at the dude’s declasse move.

According to the Daily Mail, the bride claims she wasn't upset though, explaining: “He was sooooo nervous! I thought it was funny. He did have the vows on his phone, but he didn't need to pull them up at that moment.”

The husband had his own funny answer in a follow-up clip, where Taylor says TikTok wants to know why he was checking his phone.
Russell replied: “Because crypto never sleeps.”
That answer is probably mostly funny to husbands.
Taylor later elaborated after re-sharing the clip to Instagram. “Ironically his biggest complaint about me is that I’m on my phone too much 😂 4 years married to this babe who makes me laugh every single day,” she wrote, before adding, “love you baby!!”
Taylor, Russell, and his phone lived happily ever after.
