Home Depot intends to fill more than 3,000 jobs in LA County, including both full-time and part-time roles

Home Depot is preparing for its busy spring season by filling more than 3,000 job openings in stores in LA County.

The jobs, (both full and part-time) will be filled at 107 area stores, and involve customer service, filling online orders that are picked up curbside or in-store, unpacking overnight freight, and merchandising.

“We’ve seen an increase not only in foot traffic but for installations,” George Mitchell, a mill works specialist at the company’s Glendale store who deals with door and window sales told the Los Angeles Daily News. “More and more people are feeling comfortable with our installers who always wear masks and foot coverings.”

LA Daily News reports that Home Depot cashiers earn as much as $14 an hour (California’s minimum wage), while department managers top out at $21 an hour and warehouse workers earn up to $19 an hour.

Home Depot CEO Craig Menear told investors in February, that his company’s sales grew by more than $20 billion in 2020.

“For context, it took us 19 years as a company to achieve the first $20 billion in total sales, and we outgrew that in this year alone,” he said.

In addition, Home Depot is looking to fill more than 1,500  warehouse jobs across the U.S.
