The investigation began on Dec. 3 when officers responded to the 1800 block of Camino San Rafael regarding a confrontation between a minor and an adult male, police said.

Officers learned that male was seen physically assaulting the minor before fleeing the area in a vehicle, according to a news release from GPD.

Detectives assigned to the case learned Lopez had been engaging in a romantic relationship with the minor and that he had a non-local warrant out for his arrest, police said.

On Monday, officers tracked down Lopez in Canoga Park, where he was arrested and booked on multiple charges including unlawful sex with a minor, oral copulation of a minor, domestic violence, contact with a minor for sexual offense, and possession of child porn.
