A fire was quickly extinguished Friday at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County in the Exposition Park area.

Firefighters sent to the 900 block of West Exposition Boulevard at 11:54 a.m. doused the flames in 25 minutes, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire was "associated with an active roofing operation" at the museum, said Brian Humphrey of the LAFD.

"All occupants of the building were safely evacuated, and no injuries are reported," Humphrey said.  The cause of the fire was under investigation.
