Lancaster man who used social media to target minors charged with 'lewd acts'

A Lancaster man who used social media to find and target children was charged with sexually abusing a child Monday, according to authorities. Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department's Devonshire Area are asking the public’s help in identifying any additional victims of the accused man.

Oliverio Suarez-Aboytes, 39, of Lancaster, was arrested around 7:25 a.m. on Sept. 23 for the rape of a minor. During the course of the investigation, police discovered Suarez-Aboytes would use social media to find children to victimize.

He currently faces two counts of meeting with a minor for lewd purposes, two counts of lewd acts with a minor and one count of showing pornographic material to a minor.
