
A rideshare driver accused of falling asleep at the wheel and killing his passenger is due to appear in before a judge in Orange County on Friday.
KTLA reported that Andy Van Pham, 30, is accused of vehicular manslaughter in connection with a fatal car crash that occurred in April in Tustin.
At about 7 a.m. on April 4, Pham was driving for Lyft near in Jamboree Road and Patriot Way when he allegedly fell asleep and crashed into a light pole. The impact gravely injured the passenger, who later died, according to KTLA.
The Tustin Police Department conducted an investigation into the crash and determined that Van Pham should be held accountable for the death of the passenger, KTLA reported.
Court records show Van Pham was arrested Wednesday and is currently in Central Jail.
