Malibu Canyon Rd. is expected to reopen Monday afternoon after a weekend rockslide.

A rockslide forced the road to close on Sunday. KNX News’ Pete Demetriou reported that the damage was focused on the north end of the Malibu tunnel.

The rockslide left debris piled 10 feet high, blocking one lane completely.

Las Virgenes Canyon is also closed in both directions between Piuma and Civic Center Drive until a geologist can assess the stability of the area.

The roadway is expected to reopen at 3 p.m., according to L.A. County Public Works.
