A man was found dead from apparent stab wounds Wednesday morning in the Skid Row area of downtown Los Angeles.

Officers responded at about 8:25 a.m. Wednesday to the area of Sixth Street and San Julian Avenue and found an approximately 30-year-old man with stab wounds, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, an officer with the LAPD's Media Relations Section said.
No information was immediately available about what led up to the stabbing and there was no description released of the suspect, who police said fled in an unknown direction.
The investigation, which is now in the hands of the LAPD Robbery- Homicide Division, closed Sixth Street between Wall and San Pedro streets, police said.
