Authorities Tuesday arrested a motorist who led them on a short chase in a pickup in the downtown Los Angeles area.

The 10-minute pursuit began about 9:35 a.m. in the area of Mateo and Alameda streets and ended at Figueroa and Second streets, near the Harbor (110) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Information was not immediately available on the name of the suspect or on what led to the chase.

Video from the scene aired by KCAL9 showed officers inspecting at least three large bins that were in the truck and appeared to contain vacuum- sealed packets of some type of white powder. CHP officials had no immediate information on what may have been in the truck.
