The body of a 22-year-old woman who disappeared while hiking on Mount Baldy in San Bernardino County more than a week ago was found Sunday morning.
Lifei Huang went on the hike right before a big storm rolled in on Feb. 4. KNX News’ Emily Valdez reported that when nobody heard from her, her family filed a missing persons report.
Search and rescue crews searched the mountains but couldn’t locate the missing hiker. That changed Saturday when a citizen operating a drone spotted something. Search and rescue crews went to the area and confirmed it was Huang. However, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department wasn’t able to get to her body until Sunday morning because of the weather.
The medical examiner will determine Huang’s cause of death.
