President Trump said "someone from within" the current regime might be the best choice to take power once the US-Israeli operation is over. An L.A.-based activist told KNX News that Persian Americans don’t want that.
Dr. Sheila Nazarian, a plastic surgeon and Iranian activist, said Persian Americans want a complete regime change and that they want the former Shah's son, Prince Reza Pahlavi, to lead Iran.
“We've had service members in America die, we've had Israelis die, we've had thousands upon thousands of Iranians die for regime change,” she explained to KNX News’ Emily Valdez. “And so to have an Islamist, no matter how quote unquote moderate they say they are, to have this regime stay in power after brutalizing the Iranian people for 47 years is an absolute no starter.”

Dr. Nazarian, who lived in Iran until she was six years old, said she understands why Trump is saying that.
“Trump is receiving some pressure internally for not having a forever war and, you know, all of this stuff,” she said. “So, I think this would be a very quick way of getting in and getting out by just putting a placeholder from within the regime in place and not having to figure out how to completely revamp leadership in Iran, which could take a much longer path. So I understand why he's saying that, but to have gone through all of the sacrifices of the Iranian people to have this regime stay in place is a disaster for us.”
She added that she's received numerous calls and texts from fellow Persians who are really concerned about having another member of the Islamic regime in power.
